If you are having an alteration, your order will be sent to you in our advised time frame of 7-14 days. This allows our seamstresses time to make any alterations to the item as necessary. Please allow 7-21 working days for European orders and 7-28 working days for International orders.

The goods will not be delivered until the customer's funds that have been paid to Sturdy Kids and have cleared in full.


Ordering from Sturdy Kids


A) Once you have placed your order online you will receive an email by confirmation. The 'confirmation' stage sets out the final details of your order. Please note that this e-mail is not an order confirmation or order acceptance from Sturdy Kids.
B) Acceptance of your order and the completion of the contract between you and us will take place on dispatch to you of the products ordered unless we have notified you that we do not accept your order or you have cancelled it.
C) While we try and ensure that all prices on our website are accurate, errors may occur. If we discover an error in the price of goods you have ordered we will inform you as soon as possible and give you the option of reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling it. If we are unable to contact you we will treat the order as cancelled. If you cancel and you have already paid for the goods, you will receive a full refund.

You can also call in and shop with us, Monday to Friday between 9 and 5 and Saturday 10-4.  No appopintment necessary.



All of our clothes where possible are offered in standard and non standard leg lengths. Should you decide to buy goods of a non standard length to suit your child, then please note that unless faulty these goods are non returnable as they have been made to your own specific sizing requests. There can be no exceptions to this rule. We advise that all of our customers measure very carefully before ordering non standard leg lengths. Altered items returned to us, clearly advertised as non returnable, will be returned back to the customer at their own expense. Delivery timescales for alterations is 7-14 days, however if you need them urgently, please call us on 01242 285999 to discuss this.


Order Notes & Pricing


Please note that all transactions will be carried out in pounds sterling (UK). Once you have placed your order, confirmation will be sent to you via e-mail complete with Transaction and Order Reference numbers. Sturdy Kids monitor prices on a daily basis.

Incorrect pricing.  Despite our efforts, a small number of the products in our catalogue could be mispriced or their weight wrongly recorded. Rest assured, however, that we verify prices and weights as part of our dispatch procedures. If a product's correct price is lower than our stated price, we charge the lower amount and send you the product. If a product's correct price or the shipping cost is higher than our stated price, we will, at our discretion, either contact you for instructions before dispatch and/or additional payment, or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel and order and refund it in full where full and correct payment is not received.




We are unable to offer exchanges.  Should you need to try a different item than the one that you have recived, simply go online and place a new order.  This will then be despatched within your choses delivery time.  Then you can simply send the unwanted item back to us for a full refund.

We collect only the basic personal details required to process your order. We will not release your name, address, email address or any other information about our customers to any outside party. Shortfalls & Faults


We need to be notified within 48 hours of your receipt of the parcel with regard to any shortfall in or fault with your order. This must be put into writing (email is acceptable) and we will email you back within 24 hours. Shortfalls and faults notified after 48 hours of receipt cannot be rectified.


Returns Policy & Guarantee


Please click here to start your return.  You will be taken to our Royal Mail portal where you can generate your returns label and even arrange a Royal Mail parcel collection for just 60p! A £3.95 returns postal fee (or £4.95 if you have arranged for a collection) will apply, unless the item is faulty or an incorrect item has been received.  The postage refund fee will be deducted from your refund amount.

We guarantee your satisfaction. All of our products come with a no fuss guarantee.

All goods must be returned in the condition they were delivered with any tags attached and or packaging intact where possible, within 21 days of purchase.  The item is your responsibility until it reaches us. The cost of returning the item to us is your responsibility.  Goods received outside of our 21 day returns policy will either be disposed of or returned to you at your own expense at our standard cost of £3.99.  We will refund you what you paid for your order but not the delivery charge, unless your entire order was faulty or incorrect

You are required to enclose a copy of your order paperwork or completed returns form. Under no circumstances will we accept returns that smell of smoke, have been used, are marked in any way or have pet hairs on them.   We recommend that you ask for a Free proof of postage from the post office and that you check that your chosen delivery method is insured to cover the cost of your goods if lost. Delivery and return costs are not refundable unless the item is faulty or not what you ordered.  Where faulty or incorrect items are returned, we will cover the cost of postage up to our standard rates. This does not affect your statutory rights. We will process your return as soon as possible, although we kindly ask you to leave anything up to 14 days for processing. You will be refunded for the cost of the goods within 30 days.  Please return the goods to:

Problems with Deliveries


Lost Parcels

All our parcels are clearly labeled with a delivery and return address label. Unless you have chosen one of our signed for services(4) we cannot track your parcel. If your parcel is undelivered within the period stated in our delivery information from the date of your order, you should first contact your local sorting office to see if they are holding it.

If your parcel has still not arrived or been returned to us within 14 working days of dispatch (28 working days for international orders), we can either redispatch the item(s) or issue a credit note(2) to the full value of your order. We must receive notification from you in writing within 14 days of your order that your parcel has not arrived. Claims made after this time cannot be upheld.

We can only issue a refund for a lost item if it is returned to us (please also see our policy on returned parcels below).

 Received Incorrect Items?

We do our very best to get it right first time but occasionaly mistakes happen.  Should you receive incorrect items please call us immediately on 01242 285999 so we can resolve the situation for you promptly.  Items received in error should be returned to us via Royal Mail 2nd class post which we will refund to you in full on receipt of the items.  Please obtain a free of charge proof of posting from your post office when doing so.  We will not pay for additional services such as Recorded or Special Delivery, neither will we pay for courier services.  Any money paid over the standard Royal Mail 2nd Class service is paid at your own expense.

Goods Damaged in Transit

If your parcel is damaged in transit we will replace the item free of charge. We will require proof of the damage and a written statement so that we can proceed with a compensation claim.

Insufficient address details:

Parcels which cannot be delivered due to incorrect or insufficient address details(6) provided on your order and are returned to us incur a £5 handling charge. You will also be eligible for the cost of us resending the parcel(3). Parcels will only be resent once the charges have been met. Failure to comply with these charges will result in the order being cancelled and items refunded minus the original postage and packaging charge and the £5 handling charge.

We cannot accept responsibility for parcels that are delivered to an address which has been incorrectly provided by yourself.  Should you find that you have made an error on the delivery address you have provided, please contact us for your tracking reference so that you can contact the courier for more information and collect your parcel from the delivery address that you provided.

Uncollected Parcels:

Royal Mail and Business Post will leave a note if you are not there to receive the parcel. It is your responsibility to call either company to arrange a redelivery or collect the parcel. Parcels returned to us marked as 'Not called for' will incur a £5 handling charge. You will also be eligible for the cost of us resending the parcel(3). Parcels will only be resent once these charges have been met. Failure to comply with these charges will result in the order being cancelled and refunded minus the original postage and packaging charge and the £5 handling charge.

  1. The exchange item(s) cannot exceed the cost of the returned item
  2. Credit notes are valid for 6 months from the date of issue. You will not be eligible for change in cash should you not use the whole credit note.
  3. Change will be issued as a new credit note.
  4. Charged at our standard rate of £3.99 for UK customers. International customers please call us for a quote.
  5. Royal Mail First Class Signed For or Express Delivery service (UK customers) or Airmail Signed For (International Customers)
  6. We cannot make a claim until 15 days have passed since the sending of the parcel(6) Parcels marked as 'Addressee gone away', 'Not known at this address'; 'Insufficient/incomplete address' are counted under this classification

Refused Parcels

Should you need to refuse a parcel for any reason, please contact us in advance to obtain authorisation. Business Post parcels refused, will be charged to us at cost of £20.00. If prior authorisation has not been given, this charge will be deducted from the cost of the retuned items.

We will not be held responsible for pricing errors due to software mal-functions, or human error. This website operates on an 'invitation to treat' basis and not as an 'offer for sale' as a result, Sturdy Kids reserves the right to decline orders for bulk or high value purchases.
